Our Why
Our Why
Today, work can be unpredictable and unstable. At Work Ready we believe the best approach is to be proactive, play to your strengths and be ready for life’s challenges and opportunities. Work Ready loves helping people become ready for that exciting journey.
At Work Ready we think differently. We support individuals, businesses and communities. We do this through mock interviews, assisting companies with outplacement support and producing digital resources for the community.
We are here to help.
We are here to help.
Our Logo and Philosophy
Both the koru and the circle in traditional maori design are described as a metaphor for “a never-ending journey of discovery and re-discovery.”
The koru is said to represent new beginnings, growth and regeneration. Its circular shape conveys the idea of perpetual movement. The unfurling frond itself is symbolic for new life, new beginnings, hope, perfection, rebirth, a new start, awakening, personal growth, purity, nurturing, a new phase (in life), the spirit of rejuvenation, and peace.
Space In-Between
Space in-between indicates the clients journey.
The journey is guided and shaped by the other layers of support
Koru Shape
The client. Exposed but surrounded in layers of support
Multiple Colours
Reference diversity and different cultural backgrounds and experiences
1st Layer
1st layer of support. Large and almost surrounds the client. Also a koru shape to reinforce the idea of growth and regeneration
2nd Layer
Also a large layer to indicate it’s importance. Doesn’t surround client as much as the 1st layer of support but helps to cover where the 1st layer cannot
3rd Layer
Thinner than the other layers but there to provide an ‘all-over’ support system
4th Layer
Completes the circle. Not as large as the other layers but enables them all to be present
Providing a safe space for all ākonga.
Our business is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all ākonga (students), particularly rangatahi (teenagers) in our alternative education programs. We have established safeguarding policies, a code of conduct, and procedures to protect tamariki (children) and hunga paerewa (vulnerable adults) from abuse, neglect, or exploitation. These guidelines ensure all kaimahi (staff), contractors, and volunteers act professionally, maintaining appropriate boundaries and responding swiftly to concerns about
safety.
Our policies include a clear reporting process to agencies such as Oranga Tamariki and the Police, supporting ākonga who disclose concerns. These measures ensure we meet legal obligations, including the Vulnerable Children Act 2014, and provide a safe and positive learning environment for every ākonga.
